MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE SANDBOX

Hi! We’re Ted and Holly Nichols, the husband-and-wife team behind Sandbox Play Company. For us, this isn’t simply about bringing a giant sandbox to a party. It’s about creating a place where children can imagine, explore, build, pretend, and just be kids.

Holly has spent nearly two decades working in early childhood education, serving as the Director of Taylor Road Baptist Church Early Learning Center since 2008. Her background also includes advanced degrees in education and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, giving her a unique understanding of child development, learning through play, sensory experiences, and the importance of creating environments where children with different abilities and personalities can participate and have fun.

Children and families have also been at the center of our lives outside the classroom. Through years of church and ministry involvement, including working with children and youth, we’ve had the privilege of watching kids learn, grow, form friendships, and discover what they’re capable of when someone gives them room to explore.

Ted brings a completely different set of strengths to the Sandbox. After spending many years with Costco in management and executive leadership, he stepped away from the corporate world to build our family business, That Guy Services. Today, his experience in operations, construction, problem-solving, safety, and customer service is a huge part of what makes Sandbox Play Company possible.

Sandbox Play Company grew out of all of those worlds coming together: education, child development, ministry, business, construction, creativity, and a family that believes childhood should still be filled with imagination.

We wanted to create something different from the typical birthday party. No video games. No standing in line for a few minutes on an attraction. Instead, kids step into a giant sandbox where they can become construction workers, dinosaur explorers, pirates, and mermaids and create an adventure of their own.

We built the Sandbox Play Company for kids, but we designed the experience with parents in mind.

We can’t wait to bring a little sand and a whole lot of adventure to your family.
